Fire 279 serves as our EMS Quick Response Unit. This Ford Explorer, which was graciously provided to us by Pittsylvania County Department of Public Safety, is equipped with the latest high tech advanced life support equipment necessary to save lives. Not only does this vehicle respond to EMS calls, it can also respond to car accidents and house fires to help the victims of these terrible incidents.
Fire 271 serves as our front run pumper. Equipped with a 1000-gallon water tank and basic firefighting equipment, this truck will be the first truck to show up in the event of a house fire.
Fire 272 serves as our vehicle rescue unit. This truck is equipped with
the Jaws of Life, heavy lift bags, and heavy-duty stabilization equipment. In the event of a car accident, this truck will be the first truck to respond. This unit can also serve as a tender, or a unit that can shuttle water from a fire hydrant to a fire scene.
Fire 275 is our newest apparatus! Equipped with a brush guard, winch, utility body, and a brush slide, this 2021 Chevrolet Silverado serves as our brush unit! This truck is designed to go off road to the "Hard to Reach" areas of our community to help contain wildfires! This truck carries 250 gallons of water and 10 gallons of AFFF Firefighting Foam.
