Must be at least 16 years of age.
The Commonwealth of Virginia requires you to be at least 16 years of age to participate in Fire/EMS training.
Must have a valid Driver's License (18 yo+).
To participate in the Emergency Vehicle Operator's Course (EVOC), you are required to have a valid Driver's License on file. Junior Members are not required to have their license.
Must pass a Federal Background Check.
According to the Virginia Office of EMS, you must submit a digital fingerprint scan to participate in EMS.
Must submit a DMV Driving Record (Not Applicable for Junior Members).
According to our Vehicle Operator Policy, we require you to submit a DMV Driving Record. **A fee waiver will be given to you during the application process.**
Must sign a Consent to a Drug Test Form.
To be eligible for membership, we require you to sign a "Consent to a Drug Test" Form. This states that at any point during your career with MCVFD, we can request that you perform a drug test.
